APA 22!

Join us this summer at APA!

Our next integrated course, APA 22, commences on the 30th of July 2018 at our Bournemouth HQ.

Students will start their flight training in the ATPL ground school where, with the guidance of our instructors and excellent courseware provided by Padpilot, they will pass all 14 theoretical exams. On completion of this, they will begin basic flight training here in the UK before they head out to Melbourne Florida. Here they will build their hours and with it, experience to prepare them for the advanced flight training in the UK.

The course concludes with the MCC/JOC in Dublin with Simtech Flight Simulation using their 737 sims.

The whole process from stepping through our doors on the 30th of July to graduating as a commercial pilot will take 15 months.

3 First Time Passes!

What a week it has been for us at APA!

We’ve had students going on their very first solo flights and as of Wednesday, we have 3 new commercial pilots in our midst. Nirusan, Mansukh and Aled all passed their Commercial Pilot License skills test the first time. All three sat the test with CAA approved examiners, Nirusan here at our Bournemouth base and Aled and Manny out in Florida.

Nirusan and Mansukh will now move forward onto the Instrument rating back here in the UK. Aled, on the other hand, will be returning to the ground school to finish the final phase of the ATPL theory. We have the utmost confidence that they will succeed in their next steps and we look forward to writing more about them. Congratulations Niru, Manny and Aled!

Jack and Brandon’s Solo!

The week has been great here at APA with a total of 3 students going on their very first solo flight with more still yet to come.

A big congratulations to Brandon and Jack who were our latest students to have gone on the all important solo! They took off this morning with their instructor BLD10 on board our PA28 GBXTY to do a series of circuits before being let loose on their own.

Needless to say, both students handled it well and completed their circuits amongst the busy Bournemouth traffic. As with all our integrated students they will be leaving for Melbourne, Florida at the end of the month to train and build more flying hours to prepare them for the advanced flight training back here in the UK.

Twin Thursday’s!

Aled sent us this photo of the Piper Seminole that he and Mansukh started flying this week. This means that both of them have begun their multi-engine CPL which will consist of 25 hours of flight training before they can be recommended for the test.

After completing the CPL both Mansukh and Aled will be returning to our Bournemouth base, Mansukh to start his IR training. Aled will be heading back into the classroom for 2 months to complete his final exams before also tackling the IR.

By all accounts, they’re enjoying their time out in the States, and there will be 4 new students joining them before long!

Phase One

This week we…didn’t start a boy band.

We did, however, welcome Brandon, Jack and David to the flight operations side of BCFT having just passed their ATPL exams that they’ve been studying for over the past 6 months.

All three have already completed the first few hours of Phase One which will see them achieve their first solo flight before heading Stateside to FIT Aviation, LLC, where they will complete all the SEP (Single Engine Piston) training and their multi-engine CPL (Commercial Pilots Licence). But let’s not get ahead of ourselves, solo first!

That’s a Wrap

This morning Matthew flew with EXM58 to Exeter aboard our BE76 MW and returned to base with a first-time pass for his IR!

Matthew still has the all-important MCC/JOC to complete at Simtech Flight Simulation which he starts on Monday, then it’s paperwork off to the CAA and time to start scrubbing up that CV.

Matthew has been a delight to have around and it’ll be odd not seeing him at BCFT, camera in hand but equally, we’re excited to see where his career will take him.

Well done today and congratulations from us all!

Vista La Visa

The visas are in for our next set of students who will be heading off to the Flordia Institute of Technology. They will start the first phase of flight training shortly at Bournemouth which will be completed when they achieve their first solo flight!
What is the ethos of our integrated course? Turn up and work hard. In order to allow our students to concentrate on this, we deal with all the administration concerning travel, visas etc. This takes the pressure away and allows them to fully focus on their training.
We follow the progress of each individual student, integrated and modular alike, to help where we can to ensure they get the most out of their time with us.

Grey Days

It’s finally Friday and what a week it’s been. Izzy and Matthew are nearing the end of their IR on our BE76’s but the very grey weather has hampered their progress slightly. They’ve both managed to get a few flights in though and next week is certainly looking more positive!

Our students in the ground school have completed the required 750 hours in the classroom and will be getting ready to start their flight training and go on their first solo flight later this month. Watch this space to keep up with their progress.

This photo was taken by one of our Instagram followers and shows NN on final…for those of you who know Bournemouth can you tell if they’re landing on 26 or 08?

Picture Perfect

This is why we complete some of the integrated training abroad. Just look at that sky! When our students go to FIT they take advantage of the fairer weather and are fully immersed for 3 months with VFR, single-engine flying. The final month sees them move onto the multi-engine fleet to complete the CPL training and pass the all-important PT3.

That’s not to say flying in the UK is without benefit, it will prepare our students for the IR test (which has to be taken in EASA airspace) and expose them to the type of flying they should expect when working in the UK as a first officer.

This photo was taken by Aled who is currently at FIT preparing for the PT2! Who knows which aircraft it is?

Steep Turns in the U.S.A

As we mentioned yesterday our fair weather training base in the U.S.A is certainly a favourite training location among our students.

Whilst our students certainly make the most of their time in the U.S they are there for one reason, to become excellent aviators, building experience and confidence as they go.

Once they return to the U.K the training continues, with the intermediate training going into full swing, VFR and IFR trips both on the aircraft and in the sim.

Below you can see a photo taken by one of our students, a view familiar to any student who backseat flights, the view of a steep turn! The photo was taken by Sam one of our former students who now fly’s for Flybe on the Dash 8, backseating fellow student Jordan who now fly’s for Ryanair on the Boeing 737-800.

Fair Weather Base

Who wishes it looked like this in the UK every day?

Unfortunately, it doesn’t, which is why we have a fair weather base in Melbourne, Florida. We have partnered up with FIT Aviation, LLC, who have their own EASA approval, and send our integrated students over to them for 3-4 months to learn all there is to know about VFR flying on the single-engined PA28. Although, not before they have each gone on their first solo flight at Bournemouth Commercial Flight Training‘s base at Hurn airport.

The only problem we’ve found so far? The students don’t want to come back!

Exam Week

What a week APA and Bournemouth Commercial Flight Training students have had! Not only has it been a busy flying week we’ve also had 19 students go to Gatwick and sit 84 exams between them.

Our students have worked exceedingly hard over the past 2 months to achieve these results. It’s back to the classroom on Monday to start the next phase so for now, congratulations and enjoy the weekend!

Inside the Alsim

With so many of our students currently utilising the ALSIM FNPT2 at our Bournemouth base, here’s a sneak peak inside.

As you can see the instrumentation, even down to the knobs and switches mirrors our Beechcraft BE76 fleet, allowing a seamless transition from Sim to Aircraft.

In the true sense of #throwbackthursday here’s Pete and Alex two of our former students enjoying a sim session with Blackadder 01 last year. The pair are now working as First Officers for Jetfly, one of Europes largest operators of the Pilatus PC12.

Many of our students enjoy the sim, some don’t, but the key is, work hard and understand with commitment and patience, it all pieces together.

Interested in flying with us? Head to www.apacademy.aero or email us at info@bcft.aero for more information. HL

Welcome back Niru!

This week we had Nirusan return to our UK base having spent the past 3 months in America at FIT Aviation, LLC completing 90 hours of Visual Flight Rules (VFR) flying.

The flight training comprised of a mixture of dual flights with FIT’s EASA approved instructors, plenty of solo flying, the CPL qualifying cross-country AND the night rating. It’s certainly been a busy few months for Nirusan. But the hard work isn’t over, Niru will now fly on our single-engined fleet until his passes his PT2 and then it’ll be on to the sim and BE76 to train for the PT3 and PT4 you’ve been hearing about so much lately.

Welcome back Niru!

Everyday Achievements

This past week both ours and Bournemouth Commercial Flight Training students have had huge successes, passing skills tests almost everyday.

But we must not forget the daily achievements of all our students, its easy to take those for granted. Flight training isnt easy, it takes dedication and hardwork, but for those who work hard and persevere, achieving goals is easy.

Below is a photo of Amir, one of our current students taxing out with Blackadder 10 earlier this week. He’s completing parts of the basic and intermediate flight training, tackling some tricky challenges and due to his hardwork, overcoming them.

Put simply, hes Achieving and at APA we celebrate this, we dont just celebrate skills test passes, we support and celebrate students every step of the way.

Another PT3 In The Bag – Well Done Kevin!

On Tuesday Kevin took off in NN with EXM58 to Radstock. Everything was going smoothly including the diversion, all Kevin had left to do was the general handling, and then the weather turned! Having passed each aspect so far Kevin had to fly NN back to base and ended the day with an “incomplete” test…

…and today he passed the general handling section which in turn means Kevin has passed his PT3 first time! Kevin didn’t let the delay between the two flights perturb him and it paid off.

One final phase to do and the all-important PT4 – good luck Kevin and keep up the hard work!

Sometimes It’s Okay To Be A Backseat Driver

This photo was taken by Aled who is currently at FIT Aviation, LLC with his classmates Vinesh and Mansukh. All three are waiting on their security clearances before they can take control themselves. For now, they’ve been “back-seating” which is an invaluable exercise that all of our students take advantage of, no matter where in their training they are.

Being in the backseat allows you to fully concentrate on every other aspect of the flight that takes place…besides just taking control of the aeroplane. This includes becoming familiar with the local area, listening to the R/T calls and learning through observation. Soon enough our three students will take to the skies themselves and continue to backseat each other where they can but for one moment, they can just sit back and enjoy that view.

Alpha Tango, Blackadder 08 and Ben

Blackadder 08 our Chief Flying Instructor or for short CFI is seen here with Ben one of our current flying students based at Bournemouth.

Ben recently completed his CPL skills test, working extremely hard throughout to pull it out the bag and gain that third, and arguably most important stripe.

Hes now working hard, spending his time flying the BE76 Duchess fleet and tackling the challenges of IR flying from the ground, in our ALSIM FNPT2 simulator. Today Ben and Blackadder 08 departed Bournemouth aboard Alpha Tango to put into practice what Ben’s been learning in the sim.

Interested in following in Ben’s footsteps? Email us at info@bcft.aero for more information. HL

Well Done Ben!

Ben has been training with BLD08 in both the simulator and our twin-engine aircraft to prepare for the PT03, the equivalent of the CPL skills test, which he passed on Friday!

Ben has been working hard since he returned from the states to get used to flying in the UK again, passing his PT02, familiarising himself with the BE76 and now he’s passed the PT03. That doesn’t mean it’s over though, today he and BLD08 were back in the simulator and carrying on with Ben’s IR training.

With only one flight test left to do until his training is complete, we know Ben will continue to work hard and put in the effort needed on the ground to ensure the next training flight goes well.

APA Has Gone Stateside!

Aled, Mansukh and Vinesh arrived at the Florida Institue of Technology this week.

Soon after they arrived they had their fingerprints taken and are booked in for their FAA medicals next week. Once the medicals have been sorted they will start the ground school together to learn about flying in the US!

They will spend 3-4 months in an immersive environment learning all there is to know about VFR flying and preparing themselves for the PT1 – similar to a PPL skills test.

Each of them has varying levels of experience and we look forward to seeing their progress as they learn how to fly in Flordia, obtain their night ratings and complete their qualifying CPL cross countries!

Time to get Airborne

As we’ve gradually eased ourselves and our students back into the new year, it’s now time for everyone at the Bournemouth base to get airborne.

From flying the single engine Pipers to the larger multi engine BE76 and not forgetting the ALSIM FNPT2, it’s time to take on the challenges 2018 produce and excel like always.

It’s also time for several students to depart Bournemouth and head to Florida, the sunshine state to begin the experience and fair weather training. There the students will gain valuable knowledge from Vastly experienced instructors, helping make them the next generation of airline pilots.

Interested in joining us or just want to know more? Email us at info@bcft.aero for more information.

APA and Blackadder Prepare

Yesterday APA and the Blackadder Team prepared the aircraft for the expected storm and today we’ve kept the aircraft well positioned to ensure minimal movement in the strong winds.

The weather though offers fantastic training opportunity’s, flying in gin clear, windless skies is good, but doesn’t always assist in producing a well rounded and skilled pilot.

This is one of the reasons we selected Bournemouth to provide key aspects of our training, along with the fair weather but still challenges of the U.S base.

Interested in training with us? Email us at info@bcft.aero for more information.

HNYE

A huge Happy New Year to everyone from the entire team at APA and of course the entire Blackadder team.

Looking back over 2017, APA has continued to grow, continued to exceed expectations and of course, continued to assist and help develop the next generation of Airline Pilots, ensuring the highest of training standards evident by our 100% employment of all former students.

Looking forward, APA and the team as a whole are excited for what 2018 holds, with students continuing to set new standards and always excelling in what they do, we know 2018 will be another record year.

Interested in joining all the fun and of course the success? Join APA and let us help you on the road to the flight deck.

Christmas. Starts. Now.

Our hardworking, dedicated students have now come to the end of the year at APA and Bournemouth Commercial Flight Training and this afternoon we waved goodbye for the last time until 2018.

For some the Christmas break will be a time to relax and reflect and look to see how to improve whilst others will be studying extra hard for the ATPL ground exams, looming early next year.

One thing is for certain though, all of our students have worked unbelievably hard this year and they all certainly deserve some time off, time to recharge and time to get back in the training frame of mind, refreshed and ready to take on 2018.

Flying on One

When our students first start flying the Duchess they often feel a little overwhelmed, simply due to the extra speed and extra controls the aircraft offers.

So you can imagine our surprise when we offer them a solution, flying on only a single engine, a look of surprise is usually received.

Heres Blackadder 26, Laurence and Kevin flying aboard November November completing the in flight engine shutdown and most importantly re start.

Its all in a days work for our students, and they do work very hard!

Interested in joining us? Email us at info@bcft.aero for more information.

Aled goes Solo!

Today Aled one of our most recent students has today completed his very first solo aboard our Piper PA28 Cadet Tango Zulu.

Aled joined us on the flight line only last week, having recently completed his ATPL ground school. He flew with Blackadder 10 and quickly got up to speed with the flying and went solo in only a short time.

He will now have Christmas and New Year’s off before heading out to our fair weather training base in Melbourne, Florida to complete more training, building experience and knowledge.

Interested in flying with us? Email us at info@bcft.aero for more information.

Vinesh completes First Solo

Its a fantastic device to use, allowing us to pause, repeat and take things at our own pace.

The ALSIM can be configured to several different specifications, whether we need PA28 Cadet, BE76 Duchess or even a Citation Jet.

Interested in flying with us? Email us at info@bcft.aero for more information.

Chilly Mornings

It was a chilly start to the morning, but that didn’t stop the Blackadder’s!

Ben one of our current students flying the BE76 Duchess departed with CFI Blackadder 08 for a profile flight to establish whether hes ready for PT3.

PT3 is the Integrated equivalent of the CPL flight test, tested to high standards by an external U.K CAA examiner, ensuring Ben and our other students are up to the standards required.

Interested in knowing more? Email us at info@bcft.aero for more information.

Twin Time

The twin parked up ready and waiting, our students complete their CPL and IR flight trianing on the BE76, a superb aircraft that offers students reliability, speed and stability.

The weather today is certainly on our side, whilst slightly windy, we still have the superb sun to make the most of. The wind has the added benefit of testing out students, allowing them to practice techniques and skills that make flying in slightly less windy conditions a breeze.

Are you interested in joining our next APA Integrated course? Email us at info@bcft.aero for more information.

What a Tale

What a great looking tale, its our Duchess Mike Whisky of course.

Our students have been busy preparing to fly the Duchess having completed their PT2’s recently. Flying the Duchess takes a little more skills than the PA28’s there used to, so our students will get to refine the skills and techniques in the ALSIM prior to taking flight for the first time.

As well as the flying students have to complete the MEP questionnaire, a 50 question paper covering all the theory for operating Multi Engine Piston aircraft and in some cases specifically the BE76.

Interested in flying with us? Email us at info@bcft.aero for more information on our next course and start dates.

View up front

Yesterday we shared the photo of our wing view taken by Dan whilst back seating another one of our students on the twin engine Duchess.

The photo below was taken by Blackadder 24 approaching the needles of the Isle Of Wight yesterday afternoon. Blackadder 24 and his student were flying the Duchess on an Instrument Rating and Multi Engine prep flight.

Whilst the wing view is fantastic, the view out the front is even better, a view enjoyed by all of our students.

Join us? Email us at info@bcft.aero for more information.

Wing View Thursday

We have certainly said it before and will certainly say it again, but theres no view like the one out of an aircraft and this wing view taken by Bournemouth Commercial Flight Training student Dan shows that!

APA and BCFT students work together, on slightly different paths but aiming for the same goals. They are often found back seating one another and making the most of all of the resources on offer.

Our Bournemouth based flying students will soon be transitioning onto the BE76 Duchess and will no doubt begin to enjoy the view thats on offer here.

Interested in joining us? Email us at info@bcft.aero for more information.

NDB

Today our Bournemouth based students have been busy learning how to fly using the NDB instrument, using the ADF in the aircraft.

This is taught using both our ALSIM and our Piper SEP fleet, allowing them the time to get comfortable with the instrument and build confidence.

The conditions aloft were challenging, but Izzy flying with Blackadder 19 in the ‘sporty’ conditions has certainly made an impression, words like fantastic and unbelievably impressive have been ‘chucked’ around all afternoon.

Join us and Fly Blackadder! Head to www.apacademy.aero or email us at info@bcft.aero for more information.

Roadworks Monday 9th October 2017

ATTENTION TO ALL STAFF AND STUDENTS:

Ongoing roadworks scheduled to finish late on Monday the 9th are currently causing severe traffic on both carriageways of the Wessex Way (the dual carriageway used by students coming from the student accommodation) due to lane closures both North and South bound.

The actual roadworks are towards the northern end of the road, but tailbacks are expected to reach Blackwater (the junction used for the airport).

We would advise allowing extra time tomorrow (Monday 9th) to arrive for lessons at APA/BCFT, peak Monday traffic could cause greater tailbacks than those experienced today.

Both carriageways are subject to roadworks and lane closures, those traveling from North of the airport would be advised to use either Avon Cuaseway, West Parley or Matchams when travelling to APA/BCFT.

Holds

Heres the ever studious Ben who in only a few minutes will be heading into the ALSIM for the very first time, to take on the challenges of the NDB hold.

Our students in the U.S.A fly holds but of a slightly different kind. They return to the U.K with an appreciation of the VOR and RNAV holds, and by the end of the course with us here, know the NDB extremely well.

Ben shown here using the RANT system, practising his NDB tracking and understanding of the NDB/ADF system. Its interpreted in a slightly different way but once you’ve got your head around it, its simple.

Interested in joining us and Ben? Email us at info@bcft.aero for more information.

Dan and his Camera

Did you know we share our home airport (Bournemouth) with many different types of aircraft, pictured below is the biggest, the Boeing 747-8.

There are two Being 747’s based at Bournemouth, one SP, built in the late 60’s and the pictured example, the -8 built in 2015. Both are operated for the Qatari Government/Royal Family and fly all over the world. Its an impressive sight to see.

The picture was taken by Dan, one of our former Kingston University students and current CPL student. He worked hard on his degree and achieved a First Class Honours and we are sure he will recieve the same high pass on his CPL flight test, hard work does pay off.

The Kingston course has recently changed, with students completing their University studies solely at Kingston with the flying portion of the course completed solely with Bournemouth Commercial Flight Training, under the APA Integrated brand. Students join us in the second year and complete the full integrated course. Training is completed in Bournemouth, the U.S.A and the Netherlands.

Interested? Email us at info@bcft.aero for more information.

Back to Bournemouth

Its time for some of our students to head back to Bournemouth and begin the next phase of their training, preparing them to become the next generation of commercial airline pilots.

The work back in Bournemouth will be fun, but tough, they’ll have to prepare all kinds of flights, from VFR to IFR. Flying aboard our Piper Cadets and Beechcraft Duchess and the Sim. It will be a busy time.

We are though looking forward to welcoming them back!

Students start the course with the ATPL ground school taught using Padpilot and our industry leading instructors. Once this is complete 15 hours of Basic flight training acquires in Bournemouth prior to heading to the U.S for the bulk of the basic and intermediate training.

Students complete their MCC/JOC Airline Preparation course on either the Boeing 737 or Airbus A320 preparing them for the airline world and life as a first officer.

Interested? Its not to late to join, email us at info@bcft.aero for more information.

Jepps!

APA are proud to use Jeppesen IFR Plates for training, one of the most popular plates in use for IFR flying.

Students gain a large collection of paper plates throughout their training and we encourage keeping them safe in your very own Jepp folder with one of our custom covers.

The Jepp plates are used for Instrument Approaches at the airfields examined on. From Bournemouth, Alederney to Cardiff, Exeter and Shoreham, the folder soon starts filling up. The plates have all the information you’d need for any of the approaches on offer at that particular airfield.

Jepp plates also have SID and STAR information, students become familiar with this during the ATPL ground school.

Interested in flying with us? Our next Integrated course takes off in only a few weeks, join us. Email us at info@bcft.aero for more information.

Amir joins the flight line

Today we welcomed Amir onto the flight line having successfully completed his ATPL ground school just last week.

Amir will now take on the new challenge of the basic flight training syllabus, preparing him for his trip to the fair weather training base in the U.S.A.

The training he will recieve in Bournemouth will bring him up to Solo level and provide a foundation of the training in the U.S.

APA students fly the PA28 Cadet in Bournemouth for around 15 hours and then move onto the slightly larger and more powerful Warrior in the U.S.

Interested in knowing more? Email us at info@bcft.aero for more information.

Welcome to the Flighline Nirusan!

Nirusan recently completed all of his ATPL ground school exams, 14 in the bag, meaning he is now eligible to start flying with us and before long he will be heading to the fair weather training base.

Nirusan will complete around 15 hours of training in the U.K on the Piper PA28 Cadet, getting up to flying solo in the circuit under supervision of his instructor, Blackadder 10.

So far he’s doing well, but theres plenty to learn and we can assure you he will be very busy over the coming months, but he’s up for it, as proven by his commitment through the ATPL’s.

Its nice to have you on the flightline Nirusan!

Have some fun

Flight Training can be tough, it takes a lot of hardwork, dedication and above all else the right attitude. But throughout your training with us, you’ll have plenty of spare time, your time to do as you wish.

Ben one of our students in America has certainly made the most of his spare time, taking a trip to Miami with a Ford Mustang, why wouldn’t you?

Ben has been working hard and its paying off, soon he will be returning to Bournemouth to commence the advanced training on the BE76 Duchess, nearing the end of his flight training.

Theres a Spotter in Everyone

Heres some of the Blackadder Team and a few students heading back into the main building on Bournemouth Airport after the Red Arrows arrival yesterday afternoon.

Theres a spotter in everyone, and if nothing else, the Red Arrows brings that out.

The most excited though had to be our CTKI Captain Kay, almost jumping with joy when the Reds taxied past!

Have you been to the Bournemouth Air Festival this year?

Join us, and Fly Blackadder on our Integrated course or Bournemouth Commercial Flight Training Modular courses. Email us at info@bcft.aero for more information.

Aled and Reds

This great action shot of the RAF Red Arrows was taken by Aled one of our current ATPL Ground School students on our Integrated course.

Our Instructors know just how great the airshow is, especially as its free, so they’ve worked a special programme for this week meaning out students have the chance to make the most of the airshow and grab great photos like this one!

Aled was joined on the beach by fellow Integrated students and Bournemouth Commercial Flight Training Modular students, enjoying everything the Red Arrows had to offer!

Keep a look out on ours and BCFT’s Facebook page for videos and photos of the displays over the coming days.

For more information on our Integrated course Email us at info@bcft.aero for more information.

Night Flying!

Our students in the U.S.A have been enjoying Night Flying, taking on a new challenge!

Theres one thing for certain though, the views are fantastic. Pratik sent us this photo of one of the night flights he’s back seated, sitting back and enjoying the view no doubt.

Students complete several hours of night flying, building up the experience and skill to command an aircraft both in the day and at night VFR.

This helps to lead onto the IR training back in the U.K where they will be taught how to fly in all weathers, down to minima governed by airfield procedures.

Interested in knowing more? Email us at info@bcft.aero for more information.

Congrats

Well Done to Izzy for completing your PT1 out at our fair weather training base in Melbourne, Florida!

Now all of our Students out in the U.S.A have completed the first hurdle and will now work towards PT2 and coming back to the U.K to start the intermediate training on the BE76.

The PT1 isn’t for the faint hearted, a test of all the skills the students have learnt up until that point and unsurprisingly there expected to ace it, but then they are Blackadder’s in the making and take it in their stride.

Keep up the hardwork guys and girls, it doesn’t go unnoticed.

Email us at info@bcft.aero for more information.

Healthy Body, Healthy Pilot, Healthy Flying… or something like that.

Even when in America, with all the temptations, our students still find time for a bit of fruit, heres Ben’s banana on route to one of the many airfields he’s visited recently during his time in the US.

When in the U.S.A at our fair weather training base students fly a mixture of PA28 warriors, some with tradional gauges, some with half and half and some with the full glass experience.

We feel this gives students more experience, more confidence and the knowledge of how to operate different types of avionics.

Whilst they’ll be busy flying this weekend, their U.K counterparts are enjoying a long weekend, a well earned break we think!

MCC/JOC Airline Preparation

Heres the sim our students fly in the Netherlands for their MCC/JOC airline preparation course.

Do you know what MCC and JOC stands for? If not don’t panic, MCC means Multi Crew Cooperation and JOC stands for Jet Orientation Course, both crucial for the success of our students.

Pete and Alex are currently completing the course over in the The Netherlands and are progressing well, after the ground school and hardwork in the sim, they are on their last 4 sessions.

Interested in knowing more? Email us at info@bcft.aero for more information.

Congratulations!

Congratulations to our students in Melbourne Florida for your handwork and dedication, its payed off and your now one step closer to the flight deck. PT1 passed!

PT1 is the first flight test students undergo, and one that determines where they are and where they need to go. Its not an easy test and one students prepare for, hard!

With many of the students in the USA having now passed the test, they’re getting closer to returning to Bournemouth and starting the intermediate training.

Are you interested in following in there footsteps? Taking on the adventure that is flight training? Email us at info@bcft.aero for more information.

The Twins

Heres our twins lined up ready and waiting for our hardworking students, when you train intermediate you train on the BE76.

The BE76 produced by Beechcraft and has the common name of Duchess, fitting for its comfortable, regal appeal. We use our Duchess for the intermediate training consisting of the CPL and IR.

To compliment the training on the aircraft we also use our ALSIM FNPT2 Simulator, this is used on conjunction helping students build confidence and experience.

Interested in flying with us? Email us at info@bcft.aero for more information.

PA28… Gulfstream…

We’ve just been having a chat with one of our current students in America, Ben, who’s working his way through the lessons well and building experience and confidence as he goes, growing into a future airline pilot.

Ben sent us this photo of his recent trip to Okeechobee (its a real place honest) where he parked up next to a Gulfstream, a jet many of our students would love to fly in the future.

The Gulfstream dwarves the PA28, the Bussiness Jet of choice for many of the rich and famous, just like the PA28 is to the flight training industry.

Ben will now be back, hard at work, inching closer to PT1.

Izzy was back seating one of our other students, Pratik’s flights, capturing the glowing sky on return to base at Melbourne. For many of our students, the trip to America is one of the first times they’ve been that far away from home, most relish and grown into an even more confident person, as well as pilot.

The training in America and the Netherlands prepares our students for future employment, as holders of EASA licences they’ll be able to work all over Europe, with airlines like Ryanair often placing low hour pilots anywhere, from Sunny Spain to the colder eastern countries such as Poland.Flight Training is an Adventure, but the career as a whole certainly is to.
